So I have decided to run the Bair Gutsman (10 mile run to the towers on the mountain above Kaysville) next August and also to run in a half marathon......what this means for you.....you will be seeing a lot of posts about hikes I go on. This week Teryx and I started at the East Mountain Wilderness Park (aka Vitacourse) and hiked over and up to the waterfall in Adams Canyon and then back down and finished the rest of the Vitacourse. We had a blast...Teryx loved it! We have been running in the mornings but this is the first hike he has been on so it totally wiped him out. (as you can see in the last picture) If anyone ever wants to join me on a hike just give me a call or leave a comment and I'll let you know where we are going!

Fall Is Finally Here!
This weekend Cory and I took a ride on the four wheelers, up Farmington Canyon, to see the leaves before they all fall off. It was gorgeous! There were so many colors and the clouds were sitting right on top of us! I was a nice peaceful ride...I am so glad we got a chance to go up before it starts getting too cold.
The Deer Hunt
Last weekend we went deer hunting up by Flaming Gorge. My family has gone hunting ever since I was born and when I was about seventeen I finally got a license and started carrying a gun too. I got a deer the first year I went and I have gotten one every other year since then.....until this year! My streak has been broken...we didn't even see a single freaking buck this year! I think it was way too warm and the bucks were still in the higher elevation. I am kinda bummed, but I guess the up side is that atleast we still got to go hunting and have one last camping trip for the year. I love spending time with my dad and brothers as well as Cory and our friend Andy. We always have the best time....I can't really explain why...you just have to be there to understand. Here are a few pics we took...
This is my dad telling us what the plan was for our mid morning hike through the woods. I was going to tell my mom that we were actually holding a church meeting, because it was Sunday, and that dad was leading the opening hymn. Do you think she would buy it?

Great Basin National Park
Most of you are probably saying "Where the heck is that?" Don't worry it's with good reason....it IS the least visited National Park in the country. It's out in the middle of nowhere by an extremely small and weird town called Baker, Nevada. That being said you may wonder why we decided to go there. Wellllll....Our good friends Casey and Amy had been there before and said they loved it, so we thought we would give it a try. The outcome....we loved it too! It was great not to have to fight the crowds of more frequented National Parks. Great Basin NP is one of the places in the US that has the least "light pollution" meaning there are no city lights within a certain distance so that it gets very dark at night and therefore you can see all of the stars extremely well. It was awesome. My camera is not high tech enough to capture the stars so I posted a picture that I stole from the NP web site.

Jackson Hole
We went to Jackson this weekend for my family's annual camping trip. It was a lot of fun but didn't last long enough. I think I want to take the whole week off next year! Here are a few Pics of Cory and Andy Ridin' the Rapids. They didn't make it through and lost their boat:( But don't worry, we got it back. The water was so high and fast that it was scary to fall out this year.
